| In a
nation which has multiple religion, territory, ideology,
politics, and what not, Mother Teresa was the symbol of
love and peace. Her services reached millions of people,
with a smile, simplicity and of cource love. The Albanian
Teresa reached India during late 20s. Till her death
(September 5, 1997), she served the poor and the needy
through her Missionaries of Charity. However, this well
known celebrity is no exception to criticism. Apart from
the releigious criticism, few argue that Mother's
objective was short-lived. She gave fish not the fishing
rod. With the global fund support (estimated to be over
Rs 100 crores per annum) she could have also created an
institution with a long-term developmental goals. |
