Kalanithi Maran, 33, founder of the Sun TV Network is a hardworking personality with creativity. This has led him to reach the "India Young Business Achiever Award" at the global scale in the category of innovation and creativity. The award is instituted by Sista's Worldcom, a New York based consortium of independently owned public relations counselling firms. The award is decided on the basis of business strategy, initiative, charisma, determination, decisiveness, ambition, leadership and social awarness and responsibility. Kalanithi started Sun TV, India's first regional language satellite channel in 1993. It is also the first Indian television channel to have been uplinking worldwide. Currently the Sun TV Network has Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam channels. The Network has plans to start another Tamil channel and a Bengali channel. |
