| A highest order visionery Ganshyam Das
Birla (late) thought of his country prior to himself. He not only played a key role in
Indian industrial arena, but also in the field of social welfare. He believed in micro
delelopment to solve macro economic problems. He is an advocate of entreprenership is an
untiring exponent of hard work and individual freedom to overcome socio-economic issues.
Birla was againt government controls industry and commerce. He wanted Indians to gain the
fruits of education linked with modern trends to rise production. Thus, he found Birla
Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) at Pilani. He felt that the Indian economy can
develop with higher output with increased employment opportunities in the vast
countryside. Surprisingly, all the political parties governing the country claim to reach
this goal, but a vision not completed till date, unfortunately. |
